DN1 Ethernet Switch

The DN1 Ethernet switch is a key component within the d&b system network, designed to support Milan AVB-based infrastructures with high efficiency. Engineered specifically for professional audio networks, the DN1 switch is Avnu Alliance certified and enables concurrent support for Milan AVB, AES70 OCA, Dante, and standard IP protocols. Its plug-and-play operation eliminates the need for network configuration expertise, automatically recognising primary or secondary Milan streams on each port and identifying incorrect cabling. The DN1 Ethernet switch streamlines redundancy setup by dynamically adjusting its IP address according to network assignment. It offers eleven IEEE 802.1BA-compliant Ethernet ports with data rates up to 1 Gbit per second. Three ports on the front panel feature robust etherCON connectors, with two delivering 15 watts PoE to power compatible devices such as the d&b ArraySight. Housed in a durable 1 RU 9.5-inch chassis, the DN1 Ethernet switch allows dual-unit rack installation for compact redundancy solutions.

Optimised Network Integration for Professional AV Environments

The DN1 Ethernet switch is a purpose-built network device designed to support the integration of professional audio systems within Milan AVB-based infrastructures. Developed by d&b audiotechnik, the DN1 Ethernet switch plays a critical role in enabling reliable, standards-based data transport for live sound, fixed installations, and other demanding AV applications. As an Avnu Alliance certified solution, the DN1 Ethernet switch supports simultaneous transmission of Milan AVB, AES70 OCA, Dante, and conventional IP traffic, allowing for compatibility with a wide range of devices and protocols. With its plug-and-play operation, the DN1 eliminates the need for complex configuration, enabling audio professionals and system integrators to deploy high-performance networks without requiring in-depth IT expertise. The switch automatically identifies primary and secondary Milan streams per port, alerts users to incorrect wiring, and supports automatic IP address switching in redundant network setups. Housed in a compact 1 rack unit 9.5-inch chassis, the DN1 Ethernet switch offers flexibility for installations where space efficiency is essential. It features eleven Ethernet ports, three of which are equipped with etherCON connectors on the front panel, including two that provide power over Ethernet for compatible devices such as the d&b ArraySight. By ensuring consistent, reliable signal distribution across a range of formats, the DN1 Ethernet switch strengthens the backbone of any Milan-enabled d&b system network.

Support for Multiple Audio Protocols
The DN1 Ethernet switch facilitates concurrent operation of Milan AVB, AES70 OCA, Dante, and standard IP traffic. This ensures compatibility with various industry standards and streamlines integration into diverse system environments.
Automatic Stream Detection and Miswiring Indication
Each port on the DN1 Ethernet switch can automatically detect whether it is handling a primary or secondary Milan stream. The device also identifies incorrect wiring configurations, aiding in efficient troubleshooting.
Power over Ethernet Capability
Two of the front-facing etherCON ports provide 15 watts of PoE output. This feature enables the direct powering of devices such as the d&b ArraySight, reducing the need for additional cabling or external power sources.
Compact and Rack-Mountable Design
The DN1 Ethernet switch is housed in a robust 1 RU 9.5-inch chassis. Two units can be mounted side-by-side in a standard rack, supporting scalable and space-conscious deployment in both touring and fixed installation scenarios.
